Very few communities are now able to self-sustain themselves, that is, catch their own fish and hunt on their own. One of these that are still thriving today is the community of Naukati Bay. They live in the Tongass, the largest temperate forest. Towards the end of the 20th century and into the 21st century, legislation has been passed to protect the national it, but is it enough?
