The New Cause for Migration

Humans have been migrating since the beginning of time, with the first human species, the homo Erectus, migrating from Africa into the other continents of the world. During the many religious wars throughout Europe during the 16th century, many migrated to America in search of religious freedom. And now, during the 21st century, people will be migrating again, but this time due to different reasons.

Due to abnormal weather conditions throughout the world, many places will become a “barely livable hot zone”. These areas tend to also be inhabited by low-income people, who will face devastating effects and must make drastic, life-altering decisions. Will they face the consequences of intense heat and unlivable weather conditions, or take the risk of traveling somewhere else to start a new life? These questions will face billions of people worldwide as the globe warms.
